Artifact: Reaching out for the Collective Responsibility - Formal & Informal Mentoring

Keeping the walls of the classroom open to others to come and observe at any moment is always so rewarding when I receive 'inspired' texts from colleagues who dropped into a moment and left with ideas into action. The learning modelled here is student centered, self reflective and target goal setting.

Reflection: Recently at the 2016 Annual Learning Forward Conference I had the privilege to hear Andy Hargreaves speak as one of the keynote speakers. I was reminded about both the individual responsibility and the collective responsibility we have in education. Deprivatizing the classroom to allow others to stimulate their own professional growth by encouraging them to observe and reflect.

Artifact: Parent Feedback Surveys

Reflection: Building trusting relationships with staff, students and parents to support the learning. I wanted to reach out using google form as a survey tool to parents that I had a direct relationship with and gather information. I was looking for feedback to inform my own personal practice in regards to how they were feeling with respect to my communication, what they felt was critical in their child's learning -"Start / Stop/ Continue".
